Based on data from the Higher Education Database (PDDIKTI) for the odd semester of December 2025, IIK Bhakti Wiyata is recognized as the first and most comprehensive health institute in Indonesia, out of 51 health institutes nationwide. IIK Bhakti Wiyata boasts the largest number and diversity of health study programs compared to other health institutes in Indonesia. Currently, IIK Bhakti Wiyata offers 25 health study programs, ranging from vocational, undergraduate, professional, and master's levels. Helvetia Health Institute ranks second with 20 health study programs, and Medistra Health Institute Lubuk Pakam ranks third with 18 health study programs.

Established in 2005, IIK Bhakti Wiyata is also one of the oldest health institutes in Indonesia and continues to develop sustainably. This excellence is reinforced by its achievement of Superior Accreditation, making IIK Bhakti Wiyata the first health institute to achieve the highest accreditation with the most comprehensive study program.
The combination of the institution's age, comprehensive study programs, and superior accreditation status positions IIK Bhakti Wiyata as the most comprehensive health institute academically and institutionally in Indonesia.

The Beginnings of IIK Bhakti Wiyata's Development Over Time

When it was first established in 2005, IIK Bhakti Wiyata officially had three main faculties: the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Public Health. These three faculties were the result of a merger of various academies under the auspices of the Bhakti Wiyata Foundation, which then offered an integrated undergraduate program.

In line with the development of science and the need for human resources in healthcare, in 2013, IIK Bhakti Wiyata further expanded its role by establishing the Faculty of Science, Technology & Analysis, focusing on Biology and Chemistry. This faculty later transformed into the Faculty of Health Technology and Management, adapting to the demands of the times and the dynamics of the healthcare world. Currently, IIK Bhakta offers 15 study programs.

Entering 2019, five new study programs at IIK Bhakta officially opened: Bachelor's Degree Programs in Nutrition, Bachelor's Degree Programs in Hospital Administration, Bachelor's Degree Programs in Midwifery, Bachelor's Degree Programs in Pharmacy, and Bachelor's Degree Programs in Midwifery. This initiative is part of the Bhakti Wiyata Foundation's long-standing contribution to national health, spanning over 30 years, since 1985.

This commitment to developing health education continued in 2022 with the opening of the Bachelor's Degree Program in Psychology, focusing on health psychology, in an effort to address the need for increasingly holistic healthcare services. Furthermore, in 2024, IIK Bhakti Wiyata further strengthened its academic role by launching the Master's Program in Public Health.

The next significant milestone came in 2025, when IIK Bhakti Wiyata officially opened the Bachelor's Degree Programs in Physiotherapy, Bachelor's Degree Programs in Medicine, and Doctoral Education. This marked a more comprehensive spectrum of health sciences.
