The Bhakti Wiyata Institute of Health Sciences (IIK Bhakta) held the Pharma Future Talks event in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in the Auditorium on Friday, July 26, 2024. The event was attended by approximately 200 students from the 5th and 6th-year undergraduate Pharmacy program.
The speakers included Maulida Mazaya, Ph.D., Ratna Surya Alwi, S.T., M.Si, Ph.D., Maratu Soleha, S.Si., M.Biotech, drh. Muh Fajar Nasrullah, M.Sc, and Dr. apt. Andri Prasetiyo, S.Si., M.Farm. This event, which focused on discussing collaboration in herbal scientification research, is important because IIK Bhakta, particularly the Faculty of Pharmacy, is currently developing traditional herbal medicines.
Prof. Dr. apt. Siswandoyo, when met after the event, stated that natural medicines from Indonesia are a cultural heritage health product that needs to be preserved. With the use of science and technology, herbal medicines should become a leading product for Indonesia.
Furthermore, he explained that natural medicines have great potential for development, given the high demand for natural medicines today. With this event, it is hoped that herbal products can be created in the future.
