The Dentist Oath is one of the important moments that marks the graduation of a student from professional dental education and their readiness to provide quality dental health services. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, one of the highly anticipated series of events in the world of dental education was the implementation of the dental oath for graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry, IIK Bhakti Wiyata University (IIK Bhakta) class XXXIV in the Cakra room.
The Faculty of Dentistry of IIK Bhakta is known as one of the universities that has a high commitment to producing competent medical personnel, especially in the field of dentistry. In the tradition of dental education on this campus, students are not only taught quality knowledge, but are also expected to have a noble professional attitude in carrying out their duties as dentists.
The Dean of FKG IIK Bhakta, drg. Afrida Nurmalasari, M.Kes explained that the dental oath is not just a ceremony, but more of a moral statement and commitment of a dentist to always maintain and improve the quality of life of patients through dental health services.
“This oath contains a promise to maintain professional ethics, respect human life, and carry out professional responsibilities with full dedication, he explained.
In his oath, drg. Ira Batti Sampearrang said a dentist promises to always prioritize patient safety, maintain the confidentiality of medical information, and continue to develop knowledge and skills in order to provide the best service.
“This oath also includes a determination not only to be a professional medical worker, but also to be an individual who cares about the welfare of society,” he explained.
