D3 Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program, Faculty of Health Technology and Management, Bhakti Wiyata Health Sciences Institute, Kediri, held an information transfer in the Auditorium Room, 6th Floor, Adipadma Building, Thursday (17/04/2025). The Information Transfer Event is an activity that students must participate in after carrying out Field Work Practices (PKL).
58 third-year students carried out PKL on October 28, 2024 to February 28, 2025, divided into several PKL areas including the Surabaya Public Health Laboratory Center, East Java Provincial Haji Hospital, H.S Samsoeri Mertojoso Bhayangkara Hospital, Dr. Ramelan RSPAL Surabaya, Prof. Dr. Soekandar Mojosari Hospital, Mojowarno Hospital, Kediri City Bhayangkara Hospital, and Gambiran Hospital, Kediri City.
This event aims to provide an opportunity for D3 Medical Laboratory Technology students to report and present their work results and experiences during their internships in various designated Hospital laboratories. In addition, it is expected to show the relevance between the theories learned on campus and their real implementation in the field, as well as provide an overview to junior students who will be doing internships. It is also a means to improve students' understanding of the challenges that will be faced in the world of work and the importance of skills in laboratory examinations and preparing themselves to enter the world of work in the professional medical laboratory field.
The series of events were filled with presentations of internship results by the Participants. Each Participant was given the opportunity to present the results of their work during the internship, according to the study participants including Immunohematology, clinical chemistry, immunoserology, hematology, bacteriology, parasitology and cystohistotechnology. Each participant provided a clearer picture of how students implement the skills learned on campus in the context of the real world of work.
In addition, there was a question and answer session that allowed participants to discuss with the audience, consisting of laboratory practitioners, 1st and 2nd year students, and lecturers who also attended the event. This discussion was very productive, because it provided an opportunity for participants to get direct input on their work results and broaden their horizons about the world of work. As well as getting an assessment from the judges. The best group and the best presenter will later receive a prize from the committee. The information transfer event was also filled with an expert lecture on "Laboratory Digitalization in Field Work Practice Areas" with speakers dr. Maria Magdalena Riyaniarti Estri Wuryandari, M.Pd., M.Sc., dr. Hartati Tuna, M.Kes., dr. Kurniawan Santoso and Sunarto, Amd.AK.
Head of D3 Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program FTMK IIK Bhakta, Binti Mu'arofah., S.ST., S.Pd., M.Sc. hopes that through this seminar, participants can be better prepared to face the challenges of the world of work and apply the results of their PKL in a successful career.
"We hope that events like this will not only be beneficial for the participants, but also as a means to strengthen relationships within the IIK Bhakta community and the Hospital, especially the Medical laboratory," he explained.
