The D3 Medical Laboratory Technology study program, Faculty of Health Technology and Management, Bhakta Institute of Health Sciences held an Expert Lecture with the theme: Handling, Validation and Examination of Microbiology samples, Saturday (0709/2024). This expert lecture was presented by resource person Laura Navika Yamani, S.Si, M.Sc., Ph.D Lecturer and researcher from the Institute of Tropical Disease (ITD), Airlangga University. In the event which was attended by hundreds of D3 and D4 students of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology Bhakti Wiyata Health Sciences, in the Auditorium on the 6th floor of the Adipadma building.Laura Navika Yamani, S.Si, M.Sc., Ph.D introduced the importance of handling, validation of microbiological examinations as the spearhead of the quality of examination results, where examination results function as part of activities to confirm the presence of infection from pathogenic microorganisms and monitor response therapy in patients.The enthusiasm of students and teaching staff in participating in this event was seen in the question and answer session, various problematic phenomena that emerged related to the quality of biological samples in microbiological examinations to cases of false negative and positive results of microbiological examinations that occurred in the world of work.
