Commitment to Promote Health in Timor Leste: IIK Bhakkta Provides Scholarships for Timor Leste ResidentsAs a step to promote joint health between the two countries, the Bhakti Wiyata Institute of Health Sciences (IIK Bhakta) together with the Timor Leste Ministry of Health provide full scholarships up to living costs for Timor Leste citizens.This collaboration program has been going on for a long time and an extension of the collaboration was carried out through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was held on Tuesday (08/05/2024) in the meeting room of the Adipadma building.This signing was attended directly by the Deputy Minister of Health for Timor Leste, Mr. José dos Reis Magno, and the Head of the National Institute of Public Health of Timor-Leste (NIPH-TL), Mrs. Dr. Merita Antonia Armindo Amaral and Dr. Julio Aparicio as executive director of the Timor Leste HR Development Fund.Chief Executive of the Bhakti Wiyata Foundation, Dr. David R Suhartono B.Comm M.M M.B.A warmly welcomed the visit. He was grateful for the cooperation that has been going on together in the last few years. "Thank you for working with IIK Bhakta in the last few years until now," he said.Furthermore, he also explained that this program was an implementation of the MoU, which had been carried out by IIK Bhakta with the Timor Leste Education Attache where many Timor Leste citizens had received scholarships at IIK Bhakta by studying at the Faculty of Dentistry. Apart from that, dr. David also offers scholarships for Timor Leste residents at the Bhakti Wiyata Health Vocational School level.On that occasion, the Deputy Minister of Health for Timor Leste, Mr. José dos Reis Magno, expressed his gratitude to IIK Bhakta, especially the founder of IIK Bhakta, Mr. Dr. Bambang Harsono Suhartono, M.B.A who has accepted Timor Leste students to study at IIK Bhakta. On the same occasion, he also advised Timor Leste students who are currently studying at IIK Bhakta to study hard and graduate on time so they can quickly return to Timor Leste.In this MoU, IIK Bhakta and Timor Leste will provide scholarships to their citizens to study at IIK Bhakta in the D3 Medical Laboratory Technology study program until they graduate.
