Public Health undergraduate students were selected to be Oral Presenters at the National Conference: Community Transformation Conference 2023 entitled Embracing Diversity, Encouraging Equal Involvement for Communities.
Moch. Damarjati Widya Dhana (class of 2023) and Inti Ilmatul Istiqomah (class of 2020) were successfully selected as one of the Oral Presenters after passing the expert panel selection results from 468 submitted abstracts with full funding from IAC.
The National Conference held by the Indonesia AIDS Coalition (IAC) was attended by 400 participants from all regions of Indonesia. This event aims to increase the involvement of various parties in preventing and controlling the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Indonesia.
The second student supervised by Mr. Forman Novrindo Sidjaga, S.K.M., M.Kes.(Epid) raised topics related to HIV/AIDS treatment in Kediri City from a different perspective.
Damar raised the issue of comorbidities which cause 90% of deaths in people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), while Inti raised the issue of personality and psychosocial pressure in PLWHA while taking antiretroviral (ARV) treatment. Both of them had the opportunity to read their work directly in front of conference participants and experts in Surabaya, 6-10 November 2023 at the Fourpoint Pakuwon Hotel.
We hope that the involvement of Bachelor of Public Health students in this activity will be the first step for students to take part in efforts to prevent and control HIV/AIDS in Kediri City.
