The health challenges in Indonesia and the demand for competent human resources in public health are becoming increasingly complex. To address this, the Institute of Health Sciences Bhakti Wiyata (IIK Bhakta) is launching a new study program, namely the Master's in Public Health (MPH).
The establishment process is just one step away, with the final stage awaiting the official decree from the central government. Meanwhile, this top health campus in Kediri is rigorously preparing to ensure everything is in place. Numerous efforts have been made to enhance the quality of education, including preparing lecturers according to the specified requirements and upgrading the campus facilities with modern amenities.
IIK Bhakta’s Rector, Prof. Dr. apt. Muhammad Zainuddin, explained that one of the key requirements for launching a master's program is having a sufficient number of lecturers with doctoral degrees. "Currently, many IIK Bhakta lecturers are pursuing their PhDs at various top universities to meet this requirement," said Prof. Zainuddin.
As the first health institute in Indonesia, IIK Bhakta ensures that master's students will receive high-quality education through comprehensive facilities and teaching staff who are experts in their fields. IIK Bhakta is also preparing various public health laboratories, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Environmental Health Laboratories, Biomedical Laboratories, Audiovisual Laboratories, Computer Laboratories, and more. Additionally, there are lecture rooms, faculty offices, and tutorial rooms. Moreover, collaborations with various health institutions both domestically and internationally will provide valuable practical experiences for students.
The Head of the MPH Program, Reny Nugraheni, added that the IIK Bhakta MPH Program will focus on global health, offering an advantage in developing the understanding and skills needed to tackle global health challenges and contribute to public health improvement worldwide. "This involves studying, policymaking, and actions designed to address health issues affecting multiple countries and regions," Reny said. These health issues include infectious diseases, climate change, and inequities in access to healthcare services.
Graduates of the IIK Bhakta MPH Program are expected to fill various strategic positions in government institutions, non-governmental organizations, hospitals, and even multinational companies focused on health. With this degree, graduates also have significant opportunities to pursue doctoral studies or work as public health consultants.
Currently, IIK Bhakta offers 21 accredited health study programs. The addition of the MPH Program will further enhance the quality of the institution. Sounds interesting, right? You can start preparing now. Detailed information about requirements and other necessary details will be provided through social media and the official website: www.iik.ac.id.
