The Faculty of Medicine was subsequently guided and briefed by the Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region VII of East Java on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. This marks an important milestone in the development of medical education within IIK Bhakta.
The official guidance session was conducted by the Head of LLDIKTI Region VII of East Java, Prof. Dr. Dyah Sawitri, S.E., M.M., and was attended by IIK Bhakta’s leadership, including the Executive Chair of the IIK Bhakti Wiyata Foundation, dr. Nita Damayanti, Sp.KFR, AIFO-K, CHt®; as well as other key stakeholders of IIK Bhakti Wiyata. This moment also signifies the completion of a long and rigorous process to establish the Faculty of Medicine, which has undergone various stages of assessment, verification, and evaluation in accordance with national higher education standards.
In his remarks, dr. David expressed gratitude and extended his sincere appreciation to LLDIKTI Region VII of East Java for the trust and guidance provided throughout the process. He emphasized that the issuance of the decree is a significant mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility and a strong commitment to quality.
“With the establishment of this Faculty of Medicine, this is not only a source of pride for IIK Bhakta, but also a major responsibility to deliver excellent, ethical medical education oriented toward community service. The establishment of this Faculty has long been IIK Bhakta’s aspiration to help meet Indonesia’s need for medical doctors,” said dr. David.
Prof. Zainuddin explained that the opening of the Faculty further strengthens IIK Bhakta’s role as one of the largest and most comprehensive health institutes in Indonesia, and reflects the institution’s commitment to producing highly competitive and excellent healthcare professionals.
“Bhakta is ready to open this Faculty of Medicine to serve communities across the Kediri Residency (Kediri, Tulungagung, Trenggalek, Blitar, and Nganjuk) and throughout Indonesia, and to synergize in strengthening Indonesia’s human resources through IIK Bhakta,” Prof. Zainuddin stated.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dyah noted that the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at IIK Bhakta has fulfilled all requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, including academic standards, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and governance.
“LLDIKTI Region VII of East Java appreciates IIK Bhakta for its consistency and dedication in preparing the establishment of this Faculty. We hope the Faculty of Medicine at IIK Bhakta will produce qualified and professional doctors with a strong social concern for the health needs of the community,” she said.
Furthermore, Prof. Dyah подчеркнула (emphasized) that the Faculty of Medicine at IIK Bhakta is expected to contribute to meeting national demand for doctors—particularly in East Java and Eastern Indonesia—while strengthening a high-quality and sustainable health higher education ecosystem. She also expressed hope that IIK Bhakta will provide scholarships for Indonesian students in need.
With the decree officially received, IIK Bhakta is now authorized to operate the Faculty of Medicine and proceed to the next stages, including academic preparations, strengthening a competency-based curriculum, preparing lecturers and education personnel, and developing networks with teaching hospitals. Admission for Academic Year 2026/2027 is now open online at www.pmb.iik.ac.id or offline by visiting the Admissions Office at Jalan K.H. Wachid Hasyim No. 65, Kediri, East Java.
The establishment of this Faculty of Medicine further reinforces IIK Bhakta’s position as a comprehensive health higher education institution. The presence of this new faculty is expected to contribute strategically to improving the quality of medical education and supporting equitable access to healthcare services across Indonesia.
The guidance session concluded with a group photo session and a strategic discussion on the future development direction of the Faculty of Medicine at IIK Bhakta. The Faculty’s learning system will later adopt the EMAS approach—Education, Nutrition Management, Physical Activity, and Stress Management—so that graduates are expected to view patients more comprehensively and holistically.
